WWE Bash in Berlin 2024 Results: Winners, Live Grades, Reaction and Highlights
Championships were to be decided and personal rivalries intensified as WWE rolled into Germany for Saturday's Bash in Berlin premium live event.
Did Gunther retain in his first defense of the World Heavyweight Championship against a Randy Orton looking to humble him in front of his friends and family?
Were Rhea Ripley and Damian Priest able to settle their rivalry with Dominik Mysterio and Liv Morgan, ending one of the most intensely personal feuds on WWE programming?

The announced card for Saturday night at the Uber Arena in Berlin:
Undisputed WWE Championship Match: Cody Rhodes vs. Kevin Owens
- The fans erupted during the pre-match staredown, with chants of "welcome to Berlin" and "in your face. " The electricity was palpable. The crowd was split right down the middle, with the crowd chanting both competitors' names in support of both champion and challenger.
- "Either he's not hurt or nobody's talking about it," Cole said of Rhodes' knee injury, which was teased Friday night on SmackDown.
- Cole pointed out Rhodes' efforts to keep his opponent guessing, including uncorking two early submission holds that are not typically part of The American Nightmare's arsenal. WWE's voice is at its best in this era, where he can break free of governors in his ear dictating what he has to say.
- Neither Superstar enjoyed a sustained advantage as not to build heat and be presented as a heel. It is a fine line to walk in a match between two babyfaces yet Owens and Rhodes pulled it off.
Kevin Owens refused to capitalize on Cody Rhodes' injured knee and deliver an apron powerbomb that would have won him the Undisputed WWE Championship. Instead of celebrating his first singles title victory in seven years, The Prizefighter left Berlin Saturday without gold and questions about his "killer instinct" hovering overhead like a dark, pregnant cloud.
The match was excellent, a back-and-forth battle between two babyfaces that did not descend into the formulaic. Neither work as heels, with the story instead focusing on whether Owens would rediscover the edge that led him to his prior successes.
There were dramatic near-falls on the tail-end of notable finishers and the crowd was red-hot for everything, including the senton that Rhodes countered by getting his knees up and the Cross Rhodes that ended Owens' championship quest.
A fantastic opener, the story is such now that it feels rather immature to move on from it and onto another Rhodes vs. Solo Sikoa match, as Michael Cole teased on commentary. Is Owens really willing to just slink away now after coming so close to winning the top prize in the company?
Hopefully not because Triple H and the rest of the creative team may have stumbled upon one of the more intriguing stories they have been able to tell since WrestleMania.

WWE Women's Tag Team Title: Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair vs. Unholy Union
- Cole pointed out Fyre's long history of working in Germany for Westside Xtreme Wrestling.
- Wade Barrett spoke of Dawn and Fyre keeping Cargill on the apron, stating that it is up to the least-experienced competitor in the match to come up with the strategy for the rest of the match. It was a little remark but one that added gravity to the situation in a way the creative leading into it didn't.
- Cool spot: Fyre cut off Belair's attempt at a hot tag by delivering a Tornado DDT that saw her kick The Storm off the apron in the process.
- Belair might be the best worker in the women's division today. Her growth since that first championship victory in 2021 is undeniable.
- Fyre repeatedly nursed her left knee. Hopefully, she is OK and not injured in any significant way.
Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill righted the wrong from Clash at the Castle, regaining the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship from Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn.
This was a lengthy match that highlighted the women's tag team division, which has received a boost creatively from Triple H and Co. in recent weeks. It featured Fyre and Dawn isolating Belair for the majority of the middle portion of the contest and cutting off any attempt to tag Cargill into the match.
By the time The EST of WWE finally made the tag, Cargill exploded into the match, intensifying the action and upping the urgency. A late save, in which she pulled Belair out of the way and allowed Fyre to crash into the waiting knees of her own partner, set up the finish.
At this point, there are more heel teams in the women's tag division, and the creative team must find the prospect of using Belair and Cargill across both Raw and SmackDown appealing.
While there was an argument to be made for keeping the belts on The Unholy Union, it's understandable why the decision was made to go with the babyfaces here.

Strap Match: CM Punk vs. Drew McIntyre
- Cole recalled Punk winning a Strap match against Umaga the same night he cashed in Money in the Bank on Jeff Hardy to win the world title at Extreme Rules in 2009. Another great callback from the GOAT commentator.
- McIntyre got the jump on Punk this time, attacking him from behind and before the bell, a nice touch given how often the tables have been turned in this feud.
- Punk downed McIntyre but refused to touch the turnbuckles, determined to punish the Scot instead of beating him. The commentary team criticized him for making a similar mistake to his SummerSlam performance.
- Clever spot: Punk set up a table but rather than waiting to be driven through it, McIntyre rolled in the ring, forcing his opponent back inside. He rocked The Second City Saint with a Claymore from there.
- Clever spot 2: Punk cut off McIntyre's attempt to win the match by sliding out of the ring and pulling on the strap, driving the heel face-first into a steel chair in the corner.
- Punk applied the Sharpshooter and could neutralize McIntyre for a moment since there were no rules.
The rivalry between CM Punk and Drew McIntyre wrote its latest chapter Saturday in a Strap match, won by the former as he avenged months of taunting and torment at the hands of The Scottish Warrior.
The Best in the World accomplished the feat by absorbing tremendous punishment, delivering Go To Sleep four times, retrieving the bracelet with the names of his wife and his dog on it, and touching all four corners.
The turnbuckle stipulation often detriments strap matches in WWE, forcing competitors to forego the more logical pinfall or submission finish.
There were times during this match where that was the case, but for the most part, Punk and McIntyre delivered an appropriately physical, hard-hitting match that gave the babyface the much-needed victory and hopefully meant the end of the bracelet side story.
Punk shined brightly with a strong performance that he can build on as his return to the ring continues. McIntyre sold like a champ, eating each Go To Sleep.
It feels very much like their rivalry has one more match left in it and, with the return of Bad Blood in Atlanta on October 5, perhaps Hell in a Cell is that contest.

Mixed Tag Team Match: Rhea Ripley, Damian Priest vs. Liv Morgan, Dominik Mysterio
- The Terror Twins team will make a ton of money for WWE. Both have the look and the aura needed, and the fans are behind them.
- Morgan provided the distraction that allowed the heels to take advantage. It would not be the first time she took a cheap shot at The Archer of Infamy, drawing the ire of Ripley, Cole and the fans.
- The hot tag to Ripley drew the biggest reaction of the match and forced Cole to exclaim, "Oh yeah!" before adding, "Oh, I'm supposed to be unbiased."
- Ripley applied a headscissors to Mysterio. This time, the reaction rivaled any other on the entire show to that point.
Rhea Ripley and Damian Priest avenged the shocking betrayals that doomed their SummerSlam by defeating Dominik Mysterio and Liv Morgan in a mixed tag team match, all while fending off Finn Bálor, JD McDonagh and Carlito.
The crowd exploded for the entry of Ripley into the match off a hot tag from Priest and grew even louder when she got her hands (and legs) on Mysterio. The Terror Twins appeared to be en route to a dominant victory late in the match, only for the remaining members of The Judgment Day to appear.
What could have been costly for Priest and Ripley proved to be a roadblock as The Archer of Infamy dispatched the heels, setting Mami to flatten Morgan with Riptide and score the win.
This was an expertly booked match that hit every story beat, gave the fans what they wanted, and highlighted Priest and Ripley's potential to be a top act in WWE.
If there was one negative, it was how foolish the heels looked. Despite an overwhelming numbers advantage, they were systematically picked apart in favor of the babyface victory.
One would assume this story is not over, and if that is the case, how Bálor and Co. recover will determine the feud's long-term well-being.
For now, this was an effective showcase for Priest and Ripley as they embark on a run as one of the most popular acts on the roster.

World Heavyweight Championship: Randy Orton vs. Gunther
- Gunther's pop was great. The reaction for Ludwig Kaiser and his introduction of the world champion was even better. A deafening reaction for The Ring General.
- Orton's f-bomb "sell" of Gunther's chop said all it needed to about the pain one must endure anytime they set foot inside the squared circle with the world champion.
- The Ring General nursed a nasty bruise on his right shoulder, the result of the physicality of the match.
- The titleholder delivered a powerbomb, but Orton kicked out. A second attempt at the move resulted in The Viper slipping out and delivering the RKO for a dramatic two-count.
- Orton delivered a side suplex off the steel steps and through the announce table, putting Gunther in the greatest peril he faced all match long.
Any questions about Gunther and his reign as world champion were answered emphatically Saturday in a grueling, physical victory over Randy Orton in the main event of Bash in Berlin.
The Ring General absorbed a tremendous beating from The Viper that tested his toughness and resiliency. Late, as he was dragged back to the squared circle by the challenger after taking a big bump through the announce table, it appeared his reign with the world title would be a short one.
Instead, he caught Orton with a sleeper and despite the babyface's many attempts to break free, it earned the victory when the challenger passed out.
The two combatants showed mutual respect, meeting in the center of the ring after the bell for a handshake that earned a big reaction from the fans in the Uber Arena.
This was a statement performance by both men.
For Gunther, it was a declaration that he belongs in the main event and is a champion who is here to stay; for Orton, it was a reminder that he is one of the best wrestlers ever.
This was an extraordinary close to the show.
