WWE NXT moved into November with a new focus, establishing new rivalries. This show pit several wrestlers against each other for the very first time while others renewed rivalries with fresh perspectives.

Tommaso Ciampa has been through an evolution since he lost the NXT Championship, wanting to remove those who are making NXT worse with their complaining. Velveteen Dream embodies much of what The Blackheart hates, and he was about to face Ciampa's wrath.

Moon returned to the black-and-gold brand with a mission, but Dakota Kai forced her into a detour. The Captain of Team Kick does not want to stand aside while The War Goddess takes her spotlight.

Two other women ready to compete for the NXT Women's Championship clashes in what could be seen as a No. 1 contender match. Toni Storm wanted to show she has changed in her time off, fighting NXT's resident upstart Shotzi Blackheart.

After a terrifying run through The Haunted House of Terror, Cameron Grimes tried to refocus on traditional wrestling, but he found himself face to face with Kushida. The Japanese Superstar has been on a roll and willing to do some damage with his devastating Hoverboard Lock to continue rising up the ranks.

NXT has needed a fresh perspective for a while, and this week felt like a necessary refresh on paper. It was all down to execution.

Ember Moon vs. Dakota Kai

1 OF 6

    Credit: WWE.com

Ember Moon came in confident, maybe even cocky. Dakota Kai took advantage as she slipped out of The War Goddess' grip. The Captain of Team Kick dodged Moon's suicide dive, sending her hard into the barricade to shift the balance.

Kai kicked Moon into the mat again and again, but The War Goddess goaded her into a technical fight where Moon managed to trap her in a LaBell Lock. Moon fought to the top rope where Raquel Gonzalez distracted her, allowing Kai to hit a hanging GTK for the win.

Afterward, The Captain of Team Kick told the camera as well as a hurting Moon that she was not the same woman she was when The War Goddess last met Kai.

    Result

    Kai def. Moon by pinfall.

    Grade

    B

    Analysis

This was a fun technical match to start the show, once the two women got moving. At first, there was clearly some discomfort as the two got familiar with each other. Once the two were locked in, they flied around the ring and smoothly grappled to the mat.

Kai winning was a surprise but a welcome one. It sets up the rivalry better, given that Moon needs back-up to contend with Gonzalez at ringside. This also keeps The Captain of Team Kick near the top of the women's division despite her loss to Io Shirai.

Cameron Grimes vs. Kushida

2 OF 6

    Credit: WWE.com

Cameron Grimes was interviewed backstage and ran off after he thought he saw a zombie referee.

Kushida went after the arm of The Technical Savage early, who fought back with boots to the Japanese Superstar. Grimes got more into the fight as it progressed, feeding off the physicality from Kushida.

The Technical Savage went all out, giving him a true fight. However, the action got too intense for the referee, who took a bad bump. Zombie referee stepped in to take the spot, just as Kushida caught Grimes in the Hoverboard Lock for a tap out.

    Result

    Kushida def. Grimes by submission.

    Grade

    B+

    Analysis

This may have been the best performance Grimes has had since he debuted in NXT. He went all out and pushed Kushida to remain physical. The pace was fast while the contest never felt as long as it was. The main issue was the overbooked ending.

Kushida has been on a roll and should have been able to defeat Grimes clean. Instead, Grimes got a false pinfall on him in the contest with the referee down that muddied the result. In the end, the right man still won though.

Drake Maverick and Killian Dain vs. Ever-Rise

3 OF 6

Io Shirai called out Rhea Ripley, telling The Nightmare she did not fear anything.

Ever-Rise capitalized on the opportunity to isolate Drake Maverick as long as possible. Matt Martel taunted Maverick while Chase Parker made sure that he could not tag in Killian Dain.

As the match progressed, Pat McAfee arrived with Pete Dunne, Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch. The quartet stomped to the ring to lay out everyone, causing a no contest. They celebrated with a camera in the ring, looking over the carnage.

McAfee cut a promo, paying tribute to Undisputed Era as they passed the torch to The Kings of NXT. Dunne explained that he still had not forgiven Roderick Strong for turning against him and joining UE. Lorcan and Burch were done with Undisputed Era getting all the opportunities they deserved.

Dain tried to get some revenge on the group as they walked out, but the men badly injured The Beast of Belfast including Dunne booting the car door into Dain.

    Result

Maverick and Dain vs. Ever-Rise goes to a no contest.

    Grade

    C+

    Analysis

McAfee is a good promo and ridiculously over the top in a good way, and this explanation was great. The Kings of NXT had clear reasons to turn against Undisputed Era. The amplified and piped-in boos were too much though, taking away from the moment as it was hard to hear what was being said.

This was what it needed to be in the end. The Kings of Wrestling have immediate rivals in Maverick and Dain while Undisputed Era remain out of action. McAfee and his crew established their understandable grudge against the entire group. The WarGames match to come should be phenomenal.

Shotzi Blackheart vs. Toni Storm

4 OF 6

    Credit: WWE.com

Shotzi Blackheart said she wanted to face Toni Storm over anyone in NXT, and the former NXT UK women's champion was honored. Johnny Gargano played a board game with the man in the Scream mask as he put himself over as a history maker.

Blackheart was angry as she charged to the ring without her tank, blaming Storm for stealing her tank. It clearly got in her head as Storm took the early lead in the contest. This was a fast-moving contest where Storm was never quite able to move out of Blackheart's style.

The tank-driving Superstar blasted Storm every moment she got a chance, even hitting a dangerous springboard DDT to the apron. Candice LeRae appeared on the titantron to tell Blackheart that she stole her tank. The distraction allowed Storm to stack her up for a three count.

Afterward, LeRae ran over Blackheart's tank with a truck, and Blackheart was inconsolable.

    Result

    Storm def. Blackheart by pinfall.

    Grade

    A-

    Analysis

While Blackheart got a little too reckless in this match, Storm kept the contest moving throughout. The disappearance of the tank framed the story well as the underdog went after Storm throughout. It was interesting that Storm leaned into the heel role despite not taking the tank.

This continued the rivalry between Blackheart and LeRae, but Storm also got some interesting development. She intentionally took advantage of a vulnerable performer who showed her respect by asking for this match. It will be exciting to see whether she embraces a darker persona soon.

LeRae has fully embraced her heel role, and it is brilliant. A silly prop was destroyed, but both LeRae and Blackheart sold it beautifully. This was the next level The Poison Pixie needed to get to.

Jake Atlas Goes After Legado Del Fantasma; Thatch-as-Thatch-Can Continues

5 OF 6

Jake Atlas attacked Joaquin Wilde and Raul Mendoza with a steel pipe in front of Santos Escobar, who had been explaining that he defeated Atlas fair and square.

Timothy Thatcher continued to torture members of the Performance Center in live sessions of Thatch-as-Thatch-Can. He injured a man's elbow then nearly pop his ankle before Anthony Greene attacked Thatcher and sent him running.

Xia Li was asked about the letters she received from Boa. She said she was receiving them from her family. She got another from William Regal and demanded a match against Raquel Gonzalez, who had dishonored her.

Rhea Ripley gladly accepted Io Shirai's challenge. The Nightmare promised to leave 2020 the same way she did in 2019 as NXT women's champion.

    Grade

    C+

    Analysis

Atlas lost quickly to Escobar last week, so it's hard to get excited about a rematch to come. This is the same issue as with Isaiah "Swerve" Scott. It does not feel like he has a chance.

Thatcher is wonderfully irreverent as a heel, and it is fun to watch his torment people as though he's trying to teach them. It is hard to get excited about him facing Greene again, who is several steps below him in the ring. However, it might give the newcomer to NXT a chance to show his mettle.

Ripley vs. Shirai is an exciting match that should bring even more eyes to NXT women's division, the brand's best. Li's story also continues to develop, but it's hard to truly believe she will go anywhere at the end of it all.

Tommaso Ciampa vs. Velveteen Dream

6 OF 6

Tommaso Ciampa went after the cast on Velveteen Dream's arm from the start, breaking it. He continued to target the left arm repeatedly with his attacks, and Dream was barely able to defend himself from the onslaught, even after giving Ciampa a black eye.

Dream finally stopped The Blackheart cold with a spinebuster. This made the fight feel more even as the two struggled to the finish. Dream got angry and went for a steel chair, but the referee caught him. In the ensuing action, Ciampa caught him with a high knee, Willow's Bell and the Fairy Tale Ending for the three.

    Result

    Ciampa def. Dream by pinfall.

    Grade

    B-

    Analysis

This was an interesting match that did not nearly hit the highs of their NXT TakeOver clash. The story is harder to get interested in, given the awkwardness with Dream's current situation. He and Dream seem to be heels, so it is difficult to know who to root for.

If Ciampa was the face, he should not have been going after the injured arm of Dream with such malice. If Dream was the face, he did not do a great job playing vulnerable. The athleticism was high throughout, but the storytelling was underwhelming.

This match especially was hurt by the amplified chants, which did not feel genuine at all. Big matches like this need to be great to earn the fake WWE reactions

AEW Dynamite Results: Winners, Grades, Reaction and Highlights for November 4

The top feuds, most intriguing stories and prominent stars took center stage Wednesday night on TNT as All Elite Wrestling presented an episode of Dynamite aimed at hyping its Full Gear pay-per-view, available on B/R Live this Saturday night.

What chaos ensued as world champ Jon Moxley and Eddie Kingston came face-to-face ahead of their title clash, would Cody build momentum for himself before his title defense against Darby Allin and would Miro pick up his first singles victory with AEW?

Find out the answers to those questions and more with this recap of the November 4 broadcast.

Match Card

1 OF 7

    Announced for Wednesday's card:

    • Jon Moxley and Eddie Kingston come face-to-face before Full Gear
    • Cody and The Gunn Club vs. The Dark Order (John Silver, 10 and Colt Cabana)
    • Scorpio Sky vs. Shawn Spears
    • Trent vs. Miro
    • Ortiz and Sammy Guevara vs. Wardlow and MJF

    Coverage begins at 8:00 PM.

Ortiz and Sammy Guevara vs. MJF and Wardlow

2 OF 7

    Credit: All Elite Wrestling

Chris Jericho called MJF “soft” to kick off the broadcast, just moments before joining Jim Ross, Tony Schiavone and Excalibur at the commentary table. Just days before his showdown with Le Champion, MJF joined Wardlow for a tag team showdown with The Inner Circle’s Sammy Guevara and Ortiz in the night’s first match.

Jericho put over Ortiz’s tenacity and toughness long enough for him to eat a big spinebuster by Wardlow. MJF stomped Ortiz in the corner, talked some trash and tagged his massive bodyguard back into the match. “Warlow’s been doing all the work here. MJF only tags in when the man is down,” Schiavone added, telling the story of an opportunistic heel.

The scarf-wearing loudmouth and his partner worked over Ortiz before a hot tag to Guevara. The Spanish God stunned Wardlow with a superkick, then blasted MJF with a jumping knee to the face. A springboard into a crossbody followed, as did a pair of topes.

The Inner Circle rolled late and set up for a superplex but Wardlow brought them and MJF down with a tower of doom superplex spot. Wardlow followed up with an F-10 to Ortiz but Guevara made the save. Matt Hardy, dressed as Serpentico, threw a chair at Guevara, allowing MJF to apply the Salt of the Earth armbar for the submission win.

After the match, MJF ambushed Jericho at the announce position and pounded away at him, showing the intensity that The Demo God had demanded out of him earlier.

    Result

MJF and Wardlow defeated Guevara and Ortiz

    Grade

    B+

    Analysis

If there was any question about what kind of babyface Guevara can be, we caught a glimpse here as The Spanish God was nothing short of extraordinary in that role. He was fiery, explosive and had both Wardlow and MJF reeling before Hardy’s interference.

MJF scoring the win was the right decision as he had to build momentum ahead of Saturday night, and his attack on Jericho was even better as it allowed him to answer Le Champion’s critiques emphatically.

Their match Saturday night at Full Gear may not have the flash of others but it has two enormous personalities, two great heels and a ton of potential to captivate in ways those with flashier offenses will not.

A hot start to this week’s show.

Trent vs. Miro

3 OF 7

    Credit: All Elite Wrestling

After an exclusive interview conducted by Tony Schiavone with an arrogant, almost full-of-himself Kenny Omega, attention turned to our second match of the night as Miro battled Trent in singles competition. Kip Sabian accompanied his Best Man while Chuck Taylor seconded his best friend.

The powerful, intense and aggressive Miro weathered an early storm from Trent, wearing him down and pounding away at him in the corner. Taylor wiped out Sabian at ringside while Trent dodged a corner splash by his opponent.

During the commercial, Miro regained control just as The Dark Order appeared and attacked Orange Cassidy in a preview of Freshly Squeezed’s match with John Silver Saturday. The artist formerly known as The Bulgarian Brute continued his one-sided beatdown of Trent, blasting him with a hard kick to the face.

Trent attempted a comeback but Miro shook it off. A half-and-half suplex allowed Trent to create some separation but Miro caught and planted him with a fallaway slam. Trent recovered, quickened the pace and delivered a tope con hiro.

Miro rocked Trent with a big kick and applied the camel clutch for the submission win.

After the match, Taylor returned to pull Miro off his partner, only to be attacked by Sabian. The heels beat up on Best Friends until Cassidy re-emerged and delivered an Orange Drop that wiped the heels out.

    Result

    Miro defeated Trent

    Grade

    C+

    Analysis

The one-sidedness of the match went on a bit too long but once Trent fired off his comeback, it developed into a damn fun match.

Hard-hitting, with Miro showing off in his first singles match with AEW, it accomplished exactly what it intended ahead of what is sure to be a high-profile tag team match between the two teams sooner than later.

You can justifiably question Miro’s use to this point in AEW, but there is no denying that he is having fun and enjoying himself in a way he certainly did not during his last year with WWE and for that is certainly worth something.

The Young Bucks vs. Private Party

4 OF 7

    Credit: All Elite Wrestling

Jim Ross interviewed an admittedly nervous Hangman Page ahead of his World Title Eliminator finals against Kenny Omega and a video package hyped up the AEW Tag Team Championships between The Young Bucks and FTR.

Taz, Ricky Starks and FTW Champion Brian Cage hit the ring, understandably irate about their lack of Full Gear match and the fact that they were disrespected earlier in the day by AEW owner Tony Khan. Taz vowed there would be an FTW presence at this Saturday’s pay-per-view.

As Private Party made their way to the ring for their match with The Young Bucks, Sammy Guevara attacked Matt Hardy, laying him out with a Twist of Fate in retaliation for the interference in the night’s opening tag bout.

The battle between the Bucks and Private Party kicked off after the break, with Matt and Nick Jackson controlling the match and taking down both Isiah Kassidy and Marq Quen as they prepare for their championship opportunity Saturday.

Matt, nursing a knee injury suffered at the hands of Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood, limped noticeably. The injured limb slowed Jackson and prevented him from following up a good deal of his offense. Still, the top contenders to the tag titles dominated throughout the break while Quen attempted to will his partner on.

Private Party finally fought back into the contest and delivered Gin and Juice on Nick. Matt just barely broke up the pin.

The Bucks recovered, delivered the BTE Trigger and scored the pinfall victory.

“Was it worth it? Was it worth The Young Bucks taking this match just three days before Full Gear?” Excalibur asked.

FTR hit the ring and attacked, delivering the Goodnight Express to Matt. They teased further damaging the ankle but Hangman Page made the save, followed by Kenny Omega. A tense staredown ensued ahead of their match Saturday.

    Result

The Young Bucks defeated Private Party

    Grade

    B

    Analysis

There is no such thing as a bad Bucks-Private Party match.

With that said, it was interesting that the story of the match was Matt struggling to compete on his injured left knee, yet still controlling the bout with brother Nick. They beat down Kassidy and never really looked like they were in danger of losing, which is the polar opposite of the story you would expect given Matt’s physical condition.

Page and Omega making the save for the Bucks was a nice callback to their friendship and the staredown added tension to their own match on Saturday’s show.

A good segment that added intensity and intrigue to what might be the best match on the entire Full Gear card.

Face to Face: Eddie Kingston and Jon Moxley

5 OF 7

    Credit: All Elite Wrestling

With the stipulation that physicality would result in the cancelation of their match, AEW World Champion Jon Moxley and Eddie Kingston came face-to-face in the center of the ring.

Kingston attributed his lack of a family to his pursuit of the top prize in AEW. Moxley responded, recalling the promise he made to Eddie’s mother to take care of him when he couldn’t take care of himself.

“You will find out this Saturday that you are not the man you thought you were. You will say the words, ‘I quit’,” Moxley said before tossing the mic down.

Afterward, Jim Ross threw to a video package from “The Bastard” Pac.

The Brit warned that every day that passes, he gets faster and stronger. Most importantly, more obsessed. The video came to an abrupt end, the rest of the AEW roster put on notice.

    Grade

    A+

    Analysis

This was an emotionally intense showdown between Moxley and Kingston that shed some light on the incredibly personal edge to their match. Both champion and challenger were excellent here and really hammered home how important their clash is Saturday.

Theirs is a match that transcends the world title and is as much about a friendship-turned-sour. That will be at the center of their I Quit Match at Full Gear.

The video package from Pac, featuring plenty of voiceovers from Kingston, hints at issues that will be settled when he returns to AEW TV.

Red Velvet vs. Nyla Rose

6 OF 7

    Credit: All Elite Wrestling

With AEW Women’s Champion Hikaru Shida watching from the stands, Nyla Rose battled Red Velvet in singles competition.

Velvet started fast and furiously but Rose bowled her over and wasted little time showing off her ferocity en route to a Beast Bomb for the win.

After the match, Vickie Guerrero talked trash to Brandi Rhodes before a scuffle between Rose and Shida broke out.

    Result

    Rose defeated Velvet

    Grade

    C-

    Analysis

We get it, Rose is dominant. Nothing about this explained why she is getting a championship match despite not competing regularly in months, though.

Instead, it planted the seeds for a Guerrero-Rhodes feud while simultaneously serving as a last-ditch effort to create some sort of anticipation for Rose vs. Shida.

It did not work, through no fault of any of the performers involved.

Cody and The Gunn Club vs. The Dark Order

7 OF 7

    Credit: All Elite Wrestling

The Dark Order’s 10, John Silver and Colt Cabana battled TNT Champion Cody and The Gunn Club in the night’s Six-Man Tag Team main event.

Young Austin Gunn outclassed Silver early before tagging his father into the match. Not wanting any part of the elder Gunn, Silver tagged Cabana into the match, leaving the veteran competitors to do battle.

Austin found his way back into the match and The Dark Order seized control, working over the least-experienced wrestler in the match during the commercial break.

Cody tagged in coming out of the timeout and unloaded, wiping Cabana out at ringside as Darby Allin watched from the stands. Back in the ring, Austin delivered Cross Rhodes to Cabana and pinned 10 with the Quick Draw.

The babyface victors stood tall but The Dark Order surrounded the ring. Silver teased a sneak attack but Orange Cassidy came from out of nowhere and delivered Orange Punch to drop him.

Cody grabbed a mic and recalled pitching Allin’s name as an AEW star. He told Darby to quit lying to himself by saying TNT doesn’t want him as champion. He told Allin he’s not the ace so he won’t win the ace title at Full Gear.

    Result

Cody and The Gunn Club defeated The Dark Order

    Grade

    C

    Analysis

There was absolutely no reason for this to be the main event of the show. It would have been better served icking off the show or headlining AEW Dark, even, rather than in the main event of the go-home show to Full Gear.

The Bucks vs. Private Party would have been a more effective main event.

That AEW waited so long to put any sort of heat whatsoever on Cody vs. Allin doesn’t help, either.

A rather flat conclusion to a show that was, otherwise, fairly good

A week after Randy Orton found himself confronted by Drew McIntyre and "The Fiend" Bray Wyatt, he rolled into Monday's Raw with a target squarely on his back.

What awaited the WWE champion as he arrived, a showdown with SmackDown Universal champion Roman Reigns at Survivor Series hanging overhead like a dark cloud?

Who would build momentum for themselves ahead of the November 22 pay-per-view?

Find out now with this recap of Monday's USA Network broadcast.

Match Card

1 OF 12

    Announced ahead of Monday's show:

    • Guitar on a Pole match: Jeff Hardy vs. Elias
    • Mandy Rose and Dana Brooke vs. Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler
    • The New Day vs. The Hurt Business

The Target on Randy Orton's Back Gets Bigger

2 OF 12

    Credit: WWE.com

"The Apex Predator has become the hunted," Tom Phillips exclaimed as WWE champion Randy Orton made his way to the ring to kick off the evening's broadcast.

Orton declared himself "the best...period" before claiming he was superior to everyone in the locker room, specifically mentioning the likes of Edge, The Undertaker and Drew McIntyre. "The reason I am in the position I am in is because I am...the best."

"I am now, simply, a legend," he said before admitting there is an enormous bull's-eye on his back. He dared anyone to come and try to take the title from him. Rather than Roman Reigns, The Miz, Drew McIntyre or The Fiend, Alexa Bliss appeared and made her way to the ring.

After some back-and-forth, she uttered, "He could be here," and the arena darkened. The familiar shrill sounded throughout. When the arena brightened, Bliss was gone and McIntyre delivered a big Claymore. "I dare you to give me my rematch," McIntyre said before vowing to make Orton's life a living hell.

As McIntyre made his way to the back, The Miz and John Morrison came from out of nowhere and tried to cash in, only to have The Scottish Psychopath toss them from the ring. He claimed no one would take the gold away from Orton but him.

    Grade

    A

    Analysis

This was a well-done start to the show that established the numerous threats to Orton's title reign.

There was the hint of The Fiend, the presence of Mr. Money in the Bank and the threat of the former champion all rolled into one segment. The multiple threats heighten the significance of the title and make it look like the single most prestigious championship in the company rather than a prize that only two guys care enough to fight over.

McIntyre cutting off Miz and Morrison also furthers a feud that began last week. It will be interesting to see if The Hollywood A-Lister and The Monday Night Delight end up potentially costing McIntyre a championship opportunity if, and when, he gets his rematch.

Guitar on a Pole Match: Jeff Hardy vs. Elias

3 OF 12

    Credit: WWE

Jeff Hardy and Elias wrote the latest chapter in their rivalry in the night's opening contest, a Guitar on a Pole match in which the object was to retrieve the instrument and smash it over the opponent.

Elias dominated early, pounding away at The Charismatic Enigma and showcasing renewed intensity while doing it. Hardy fought back, though, delivering a Twist of Fate and scaling the ropes.

He attempted to grab the guitar, but Elias grabbed onto his ankle. Hardy fought him off, grabbed the guitar and cracked it over his opponent's back.

Three seconds later, he picked up the win.

    Result

    Hardy defeated Elias

    Grade

    C

    Analysis

"Hopefully, this ends it with Elias," Byron Saxton said.

I love shoot comments that aren't meant to be shoot comments.

This feud has been a whole lot of "meh," so it was only appropriate that this match, presumably the end of the program, would follow suit. While some might argue that Elias dominated the match and thus gets something out of beating up Hardy, he still lost like a guy who isn't at Hardy's level.

Or The Undertaker's level. Or John Cena's. Or Roman Reigns'. He is always the heel the company gets to work with relatively high-profile opponents, but never lets actually win.

And WWE wonders why it can't create new stars.

Mandy Rose and Dana Brooke vs. Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler

4 OF 12

    Credit: WWE

Though they will all be teammates on November 22 at Survivor Series, Mandy Rose and Dana Brooke battled Women's Tag Team champions Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler for the gold this week while fifth teammate Lana watched from the entrance ramp.

Rose and Brooke dominated with two-on-one onslaughts, isolating the opposition and working her over. It worked with Jax and then with Baszler as the babyfaces kept the champions reeling.

Baszler momentarily allowed herself to become distracted by Lana. Brooke scored a roll-up, but The Queen of Spades kicked out, sending Brooke into Lana. Baszler followed with the Kirifuda Clutch for the submission win.

    Result

Baszler and Jax defeated Brooke and Rose

    Grade

    C+

    Analysis

This was a fun sprint of a match that proved what the team of Rose and Brooke can be going forward, all while paying too much attention to Lana at ringside.

The chemistry for Team Raw at Survivor Series is all over the place, allowing WWE to tell the all-too-frequent story of wacky, mismatched partners who hate each other. Taking into consideration the fact that Baszler and Jax are a team displaying the same properties, it is proof positive of WWE's overreliance on that particular trope.

Still, it was a fun and harmless match while it lasted, even if the segment was flawed.

R-Truth vs. Bobby Lashley

5 OF 12

    Credit: WWE

A confused R-Truth, thinking he had signed on to face Bobby Boucher of Waterboy fame, battled The Hurt Business' United States champion Bobby Lashley in singles competition.

    It was a short-lived match.

While the commentary team put over Lashley's Survivor Series match against Intercontinental champion Sami Zayn, The All Mighty trapped Truth in the Hurt Lock and forced a submission for the win.

After the match, Drew Gulak attempted to win the 24/7 Championship from Truth, only to find himself trapped in the same submission hold. Lashley released Gulak...right onto Truth. Three seconds later, Gulak scored the win and the title.

    Result

Lashley defeated Truth; Gulak defeated Truth to win the 24/7 Championship

    Grade

    B

    Analysis

The intention was to put Lashley over as an unstoppable badass, and in that regard, this worked.

That it also served to write the latest chapter in the seemingly never-ending rivalry between Truth and Gulak only helped to enhance the overall quality of the segment.

With that said, WWE really needs to break up the monotony of the 24/7 Championship because what once felt like the one truly creative element on Monday nights has become an also-ran segment full of repetition and only occasionally funny comedy.

Team Raw in Disarray

AJ Styles and his towering bodyguard hit the ring for the next segment of the night, and The Phenomenal One did not waste time establishing himself as the captain of Team Raw for the Survivor Series pay-per-view. He introduced Sheamus and Keith Lee and quickly attempted to keep the peace between the big men.

Back-and-forth bickering gave way to an appearance by Braun Strowman.

"The only thing this team needs is these hands," he said. Lee reminded his recent rival that they all had to qualify for the match, to which The Monster Among Men scoffed and claimed he should be the team captain.

Adam Pearce appeared and said Strowman needs a qualifying match but he can't find an appropriate opponent. Eventually, Styles pitched Lee vs. Sheamus vs. Strowman, which Pearce agreed to.

    Analysis

Why would Styles, as the self-proclaimed leader of the Raw team, want to see two partners and a prospective third beat the hell out of each other in a Triple Threat match?

Why would Sheamus and Lee, already on Team Raw, not eagerly accept a former Universal champion to the team?

How perfect is Styles in the pot-stirring role?

This may not have worked quite as well as WWE hoped, thanks to the logic gaps, but it was still an entertaining (if not convoluted) way to get to what should be a fantastic hoss fight.

Keith Lee vs. Braun Strowman vs. Sheamus

Back from the commercial break, the battle between the three Raw heavyweights was underway, with Lee delivering a big plancha over the top rope that grounded both Sheamus and Strowman. The Limitless One momentarily worked with Sheamus to obliterate Strowman with the ring steps before they focused their attention on each other.

Heading into another timeout, Strowman recovered and plowed through his opponents, crashing into a guardrail.

Back from the break, Sheamus worked a submission on Lee while Styles, on commentary, implored them not to injure each other. Lee fought his way back into the match but quickly found himself bowled over by Strowman.

In a jaw-dropping display, Strowman and Lee brought Sheamus down with a superplex, Tower of Doom spot.

The Celtic Warrior recovered and blasted Lee with a Brogue Kick. Strowman caught Sheamus in the powerslam and put him away to earn his way onto the team.

    Analysis

Taking into consideration how entertaining this big-man battle was, this still made little sense, something Styles pointed out on commentary more than one time.

They had to beat the hell out of each other to get Strowman on the team, making it even more difficult for them all to get along come November 22.

That's right, two teams on Raw, two instances of partners who do not get along.

Can WWE even book a team that actually likes each other at this point?

'The Firefly Fun House'

8 OF 12

    Credit: WWE

After Drew McIntyre accepted the challenge for a Handicap match against The Miz and John Morrison, Bray Wyatt and Alexa Bliss returned with the latest edition of "The Firefly Fun House."

Wyatt admitted Orton was a very bad man in the past. He started to say he built a new world with the ashes from the fire that burned down the Wyatt Family compound. "Unfortunately, it can't be that simple. He never forgets," Wyatt admitted.

With the assistance of Wyatt, Bliss showed off her newest "trick," which included blood oozing from her mouth (or a demon tongue?) and the host of the "Fun House" uttering "oh s--t" to close things out.

    Analysis

The Wyatt/Bliss/Fiend stuff is still the most intriguing in WWE, at least this side of Roman Reigns and The Usos. Perhaps because it is so wholly different than anything else on the show, definitely because of Wyatt's devotion to the persona.

It is clear that Orton is up next on Wyatt's revenge tour, and the weekly descent of Bliss into this otherworldly monster is a hell of a hook.

Whether The Fiend manifests himself before the night's end is the question now.

Lana vs. Nia Jax

9 OF 12

In a match made earlier in the show, Nia Jax battled Lana, vowing to put an end to The Ravishing Russian's career.

Jax disrespected, talked trash and attempted to humiliate Lana as she utterly dominated her. She bowled her over, tossed her around the ring and picked her up at the count of two, clearly toying with her outmatched opponent.

Jax ultimately put Lana down with a Samoan Drop for the win.

After the match, Jax had Baszler retrieve her opponent. From there, she sent Lana into the guardrail and drove her through the announce table for the seventh week.

    Analysis

Oh, look, the table spot. For the seventh week in a row.

Funny how it loses its novelty after Week 5.

The spot notwithstanding, this was the squash everyone knew it would be, without any rhyme or reason for actually existing.

After Jax and Baszler retained earlier in the night, did this segment really have to be on WWE TV? Couldn't Jax have just put Lana through the table in a spot people stopped caring about a few weeks back?

Everything about this felt unnecessary and only existed to keep the table spot alive.

Most likely as Vince McMahon spit out his coffee laughing like a sixth-grader.

The New Day vs. The Hurt Business

10 OF 12

    Credit: WWE

MVP hosted "The MVP Lounge," where both he and Shelton Benjamin expressed their desire for the Raw Tag Team champions, to the extent that The Hurt Business said it wanted them in repayment for ridding the company of its Retribution problem.

This brought out The New Day, who ran down its list of accomplishments, including Kofi Kingston's WWE Championship reign. Kingston and MVP traded barbs ahead of a showdown between the titleholders and the team of Shelton Benjamin and Cedric Alexander.

Kingston and Xavier Woods frustrated Alexander early before Benjamin entered on behalf of his team. A big boot from the former Intercontinental and United States champion Benjamin allowed the heels to take control.

Kingston tagged Woods, who exploded into the match and took the fight to Alexander and Benjamin. That is until he was sent off the top rope and to the floor. From there, the heels isolated Woods, cutting him off from Kingston and working him over in their corner.

The heels dominated the action throughout the break, but Woods delivered a big enzuigiri kick that allowed him to create separation and make the tag. Kingston exploded into the match, mocked MVP's "BALLIN'!" and delivered the Boom Drop to Alexander.

Late, as the action broke down, Benjamin missed a blind tag to Woods, who delivered a big DDT for a near-fall. Ironically enough, it was another blind tag, this one missed by Woods, that allowed Benjamin to deliver Paydirt and Alexander to follow with the Neuralyzer for the win.

    Analysis

It may be New Day vs. Street Profits at Survivor Series, but Hurt Business announced its impending championship hunt by way of its victory in this one.

    And rightfully so.

With a decided lack of established teams elsewhere on the roster, it is no surprise that Raw would turn to The Hurt Business to provide a challenge to New Day. That the faction has been one of the few consistent bright spots of the brand for the last five months only adds credibility to its expanded role.

This was a fun sprint of a match, giving fans a taste of things to come.

Ricochet vs. Tucker

11 OF 12

    Credit: WWE

Ricochet battled Tucker in a match, as described by the commentary team, set up by a backstage confrontation earlier in the day as a result of the latter's treatment of Otis.

The seemingly random match ended abruptly with a Recoil by Ricochet for the win.

After the match, Mustafa Ali orchestrated an attack by Retribution that ended with the heel faction standing tall ahead of the break.

    Analysis

There are far worse options than a feud between Ricochet and Ali, but with every passing week, it feels like Retribution is more and more shoved down the card. It is a shell of the industry-changing faction some expected out of the team when it arrived.

Now, it is a firmly established midcard act feuding with a Ricochet who has not won a meaningful singles match in months.

As for Tucker, he is very clearly dead in the water. In his first match to determine if he is headed for big things as a result of his heel turn at Hell in a Cell, he lost in seconds. Not exactly a ringing endorsement from creative.

Drew McIntyre vs. Miz and John Morrison

12 OF 12

Earlier in the night, Drew McIntyre prevented The Miz from cashing in Money in the Bank and winning the WWE Championship. In the night's main event, he battled The Hollywood A-Lister and John Morrison in a Two-on-One Handicap match.

McIntyre controlled early, chopping Miz's chest into raw hamburger. He dominated heading into the commercial break.

Back from the timeout, Morrison and Miz sent McIntyre into the guardrail and worked over The Scottish Psychopath. Looking to keep him grounded, they worked a mat-based offensive. Morrison took the fight onto the top rope, where McIntyre delivered a massive release German from the top rope.

Miz tagged in but immediately felt the wrath of his opponent. McIntyre survived everything thrown at him, including a Skull-Crushing Finale in the closing moments.

McIntyre delivered the Future Shock DDT and set up Miz for the Claymore. Morrison pulled his partner to the sanctuary of the floor, to which the former WWE champion responded with a plancha over the top rope.

Back inside, McIntyre delivered the Claymore for the win.

After the match, Orton came from out of nowhere to deliver a big RKO and then stood tall until Bray Wyatt's haunting laugh filled the arena.

    Analysis

No matter the odds, it never felt like McIntyre was losing this one.

Even with the odds in their favor, Miz and Morrison don't have enough credibility to believably beat someone as dominant and destructive is McIntyre.

What worked was the closing encounter between Orton and McIntyre, followed by Wyatt's laughter. It continued to put over the threats to Orton's title while ending the show on somewhat of a cliffhanger.

That is the type of booking a much-maligned show needs to keep fans invested
