The New Day defend the NXT Tag Team Championship against Briggs and Jensen

Newly-minted NXT Tag Team Champions The New Day have their first challengers in the form of Josh Briggs & Brooks Jensen.
Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods offered Pretty Deadly a title rematch after defeating the eccentric duo for the gold, but Kit Wilson and Elton Prince refused New Day’s demand to sing the Pledge of Allegiance.
When they refused, Briggs & Jensen gladly hopped into the ring to recite the pledge and earn the opportunity at the NXT Tag Team Championship.
Tune in to NXT on USA at 8/7 C to see The New Day and Briggs & Jensen lock up in a ring for the first time ever!

Nikkita Lyons and Zoey Stark finally face off in one-on-one match

Weeks of bad blood between Nikkita Lyons and Zoey Stark finally come to a head in an NXT ring.
After several brutal attacks on her former tag team partner, Stark finally gets the chance to go one-on-one with the woman she claimed was holding her back.
Will Stark prove herself right, or will Lyons show that she’s one of the top stars in NXT? Tune in to NXT

Axiom and Carmelo Hayes battle it out on NXT

The Iron Survivor Challenge at NXT Deadline saw both Axiom and Carmelo Hayes come up short, but the match ignited a bitter rivalry between the two NXT Superstars.
Hayes feels slighted by Axiom’s high-flying actions against him during the contest, and the former NXT North American Champion is out for payback.
Will Hayes claim a statement win, or will Axiom continue to have the number of his newfound nemesis? Tune in to NXT

Kayden Carter & Katana Chance to defend title in Triple Threat Tag Team Match

The tag team match pitting Ivy Nile & Tatum Paxley against Gigi Dolin & Jacy Jayne ended in chaos as the NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions Kayden Carter & Katana Chance also got involved, and the trio of teams brawled throughout the arena.
Now, all three teams will face off in a Triple Threat Match for the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship live on NXT.

WWE Raw Results: Winners, Grades, Reaction and Highlights from December 19

Bayley with Iyo Sky and Dakota Kai.WWE

Welcome to ProfessionalPK's coverage and recap of WWE Raw on December 19.

Last week saw Adam Pearce fire Bobby Lashley, shocking the WWE Universe and kicking off what is sure to be an interesting story.

This week's show featured some big matches, including Bayley vs. Becky Lynch in a singles bout.

We also saw Dexter Lumis take on The Miz in a Ladder match, and The Street Profits battled Finn Balor and Damian Priest of Judgment Day.

Let's take a look at everything that happened on Monday's show.

The Street Profits vs. Judgment Day and Akira Tozawa vs. Rhea Ripley

1 OF 6

Akira Tozawa accompanied Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins to the ring for their match against Priest and Balor. As usual, Rhea Ripley and Dominik Mysterio were there to support their Judgment Day cohorts.

Ford and Priest started the match with a physical exchange that put The Archer of Infamy in control. The match was relatively even, but Judgment Day definitely had control a little bit more than the Profits.

Both teams put forth a great effort to deliver a fun and exciting match. Even though they were the big guys in the match, Priest and Dawkins had some of the best spots.

Ford ended up getting the win for his team with a roll-up after Tozawa distracted Balor by throwing his drink in Dom's eyes. Ripley got in Tozawa's face and challenged him to a match right there.

    Winners: The Street Profits

    Grade: B

We returned from a break to see the Profits trying to give Tozawa a pep talk. He ran into the ring and was immediately hit by a kick from Ripley.

Se dared him to punch her in the face but he hesitated. The Nightmare destroyed him with a boot to the face. He kicked out of a few pins, but it was only a matter of time before Ripley defeated him with The Riptide.

This is the first true intergender match to take place on WWE TV in many years, but we probably shouldn't get used to it. This felt like a one-off. It wasn't a long match, but it's fun to watch Ripley beat up dudes.

    Winner: Rhea Ripley

    Grade: C

    Notable Moments and Observations

    • The Usos, Solo Sikoa and Sami Zayn were shown beating up some people backstage. Mustafa Ali was among the victims. That guy just cannot catch a break lately.
    • Ford hitting one small counter before laughing in Priest's face only to end up getting taken down by Priest again was hilarious.
    • The way Priest sent Ford over the top rope with a pounce was awesome.
    • Ripley and Tozawa had a couple of awkward moments but nothing too bad.

The OC vs. Alpha Academy

2 OF 6

Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows took on Chad Gable and Otis in a tag team match, but AJ Styles and Mia Yim were never too far away from their allies.

The smaller members of each team started the match with a quick exchange of holds and counters. Gable established his prowess on the mat quickly, but Anderson is no slouch and managed to take control before tagging in Gallows.

The Good Brothers maintained the upper hand until the show went to a break. We returned to see that the tide had shifted a bit. Anderson made the hot tag so Gallows could run wild.

The OC was able to score the win with The Magic Killer in a relatively uneventful tag match. This was fine but not as good as some of the other encounters we have seen from these groups.

    Winners: The OC

    Grade: C+

    Notable Moments and Observations

    • We saw more from The Bloodline attacking everyone in sight backstage before this match took place. Once it was over, The Bloodline ambushed The OC.
    • Alpha Academy's entrance music is great. It's simple but fits them perfectly.
    • Anderson is a better technical wrestler than he gets credit for, but fighting guys like Gable lets him show off those skills.

The Miz vs. Dexter Lumis

3 OF 6

The big bag of cash that Lumis won from The Miz was hung above the ring for a Ladder match between them, but Johnny Gargano was also there to support his...son?

The A-Lister rolled out of the ring right away, so Lumis crawled out behind him and started hitting him into a ladder.

While this had some of the usual ladder spots, none of them were particularly dangerous when compared to previous bouts with this stipulation. This was a slow-paced match that had a few good moments between a lot of filler.

The match picked up a bit after the break, but it still never reached the level of violence one expects from this kind of fight. Although, we did get Lumis jumping off a ladder to put himself through a table after The Miz moved, so that was fun.

Just as it looked like Lumis would win, Bronson Reed appeared out of nowhere to yank him off the ladder and beat him down. He was clearly on The Miz's payroll. After he took out Lumis, The Miz was able to claim the money and win the match.

    Winner: The Miz

    Grade: C+

    Notable Moments and Observations

    • The Christmas decorations on the stage look nice but also looked funny during Lumis's entrance.
    • The way Lumis followed The Miz out of the ring was so great. That little crab walk thing he does is genuinely creepy.
    • Even with a cup on, having a ladder kicked into your crotch has to hurt.
    • The Miz teasing the crowd by pulling out a table and then sliding it back under the ring was hilarious.

AJ Styles vs. Sami Zayn

4 OF 6

After The Judgment Day was attacked by The Bloodline, a match was booked between Sami Zayn and AJ Styles.

As expected, The Phenomenal One was pissed and looking to get some revenge, so he was aggressive right out of the gate.

These guys are both pros with a track record of being able to work with just about anybody, so obviously they were going to work well together, too.

After a fun back-and-forth battle that saw both men hit several big moves, Zayn was able to pick up the win thanks to a distraction from Sikoa.

    Winner: Sami Zayn

    Grade: B+

    Notable Moments and Observations

    • The backbreaker Styles used as a counter looked like it was brutal for Zayn. He sold it well but there was probably some real pain mixed in with the selling.
    • Styles hitting the moonsault DDT from the apron to the floor was a great spot.
    • Styles screamed out the name of his finisher before trying to hit it like he was an anime character.
    • Zayn winning with the Blue Thunder Bomb was cool. He hasn't won with that move in a long time.

Bayley vs. Becky Lynch

5 OF 6

Seth Rollins and Austin Theory had a confrontation, but it was interrupted by The Usos. Theory bailed and left Rollins to fend for himself, but Kevin Owens came out to make the save. They were booked for a tag match to take place in the main event.

Lynch delivered a promo from backstage before she and Bayley competed in the next match. The Man wanted the leader of Damage CTRL to show up alone, but Iyo Sky and Dakota Kai arrived right by her side.

These two have been working together since their days in NXT. They have been partners and opponents many times, so they had a wealth of chemistry between them. Everything they did had an extra layer of polish to it.

They packed a lot into this match and anyone who likes good wrestling should take the time to see this if they didn't watch live. Kai and Sky were booted from ringside, to Lynch ended up getting her wish. However, the ref was too distracted with them to see Bayley use the monitor as a weapon. Once he turned around, she hit The Rose Plant for the pin.

The end wasn't ideal, but everything leading up to it was fantastic.

    Winner: Bayley

    Grade: A-

    Notable Moments and Observations

    • Lynch gave a good promo before the match. Marvel shouldn't have cut her role from The Eternals. She so much fun to watch.
    • Corey Graves referencing World of Sport was a pleasant surprise. That exchange when Lynch was countering everything Bayley tried was great.
    • Bayley is so good that she makes a simple suplex look impressive.

The Usos vs. Seth Rollins and Kevin Owens

6 OF 6

The main event of the evening saw Rollins and KO reunite to take on Jimmy and Jey Uso in a tag team match.

While KO and Rollins had some luck early on, The Usos were firmly in control by the time the commercial break rolled around.

When we returned, The Visionary got the hot tag and began to take it to both Usos as The Prize Fighter recovered on the apron.

Not only did Sikoa and The Good Brothers show up, but Theory hit Rollins with the U.S. title while the ref was distracted, leaving Owens to fight by himself. He managed to hit the Popup Powerbomb to score the pin despite being at a disadvantage.

This was a solid main event from four of WWE's most reliable performers. There may have been too much interference at the end, but chaos can be fun sometimes.

Zayn arrived and had a standoff with KO, but he decided not to engage in a fight and walked away.

Winners: Kevin Owens and Seth Rollins

    Grade: B+

    Notable Moments and Observations

    • Seeing Rollins and KO as a team again was pretty fun. They have great chemistry together.
    • Rollins has great facial expressions for selling. He can convincingly look like he is in a lot of pain.
    • Rollins is so great at so many things, but his superkick always looks a little slow for some reason.
    • When Rollins flipped over the top rope to take out The Usos and Sikoa, he almost went too far and cleared them completely. It was cool but could have been a disaster if he was off by a few more inches.

Some of the best football players will be in action at the FIFA World Cup 2022, which will be held across eight stadiums in Qatar from November 20 to December 18.

The Qatar FIFA World Cup 2022 will see 32 teams from five confederations compete for the biggest prize in football. The teams have been divided into eight groups of four (A to H) and only the top two teams will advance to the knockout stages.

As many as 64 matches will be played during the course of 29 days, also making it the shortest 32-team FIFA World Cup in history.

Except for the first two days, four matches will be played each day during the group stages. Each of the 32 teams will play three matches in the group stages before the knockouts begin with the round of 16 (pre-quarterfinals) on December 3.

Hosts Qatar will kick off the 2022 World Cup against Ecuador in Group A at the Al Bayt Stadium in Al Khor on November 20. Defending champions France will play their first match against Australia at 12:30 AM IST on November 23 while five-time champions Brazil will start against Serbia at 12:30 AM IST on November 25. India is 2 hours 30 minutes ahead of Qatar.

The semi-finals will be played on December 14 and 15, both at 12:30 AM IST, while the final will take place at the Lusail Iconic Stadium on December 18.

This will be the first time that a country from the Middle East will host the FIFA World Cup and consequently, the first edition being held outside the typical June-July window earmarked for the quadrennial showpiece.
